The 2024 Craven Apiary Foundation Scholarship

  • Scholarship Details

    Application Period:
    February 1 - March 1, 2024

    Interview Period:
    Mid-March

    Scholarship Amounts:
    $5000 to one Richmond County and one Moore County female student

    $2000 to one Richmond County and one Moore County female student

    **Each scholarship will be payable directly to the student. Funds can be used for tuition, books, and supplies.**

    Follow-up:
    We ask recipients to submit a statement sharing how the scholarship impacted them, as well as a questionnaire that will be share on our social and donor newsletter.

  • Scholarship Criteria

    Cover page, including the following:
    Name, email address, high school, brief introduction and intended college major

    High school transcript

    College acceptance letter
    If you plan to attend a 2 year college, please submit a letter of recommendation from your scholarship coordinator

    4 Essays
    Each essay should be 300 words or less
    PLEASE ensure that each essay is written in your own words, as they will be reviewed throughly for plagiarism.

  • Scholarship Essay Questions

    Essay Prompts:

    Statement of Purpose/Intent
    Introduction and why are you applying for this scholarship?

    What are your dreams and how will S.T.E.M. help you get there? (DREAM BIG)

    Describe a time where you overcame adversity.

    Describe a time you did something innovative or out of your comfort zone.

  • Scholarship Submission

    Scholarship applications can be submitted through the following:

    Return all requested documentation to the Scholarship Coordinator at your high school by 10am March 1, 2024.

    Submit all requested documentation via email to Info@thecravenapiaryfoundation.com by 12pm March 1, 2024.

    No applications submitted after the 12pm March 1 will be accepted and considered.

  • Scholarship Interview Process

    The top 5 finalists from each county will be selected for an interview. Interviews will be held in-person in mid-March, at the finalist’s high school.

    The goal of the interview process is to build confidence in the student's ability to self-advocate and speak to their future goals. It is suggested that you dress for the occasion, but not mandatory. Please do not feel the need to purchase anything new, but rather focus on bringing your most authentic self.

  • Scholarship Award Annoucement

    Each recipient will be announced at their respective awards banquet, unless otherwise stated.
